RYE Tech & Analytics, Inc. is a Baltimore-based IT and professional consulting firm specializing in Technical Resourcing, Professional Consulting, and Program and Project Management — serving federal agencies, commercial organizations, and nonprofits. As one of the founding employees, I was involved from the earliest stages of the company's formation: handling business governance, operations coordination, certification acquisition, and capability development as the company grew into a team of full-time employees and top-secret cleared contractors.

My work centered on building the formal infrastructure that allows a small business to compete for and win federal contracts. That meant personally handling SBA certification, maintaining the company's SAM registration, developing the website and marketing materials alongside third-party vendors, and navigating the federal procurement ecosystem — from certification programs to GSA schedule vehicles to conference networking at HIMSS, NCMA, and GovCon events. Winning the GSA Multiple Award Schedule, securing HUBZone status, acquiring a Minority Business Enterprise certification, and pursuing 8(a) status each required deep engagement with federal procurement processes that most people never encounter directly.

The operational side extended to resourcing technical staff for IT contracts with the Transportation Security Administration, ePATHUSA, RELI Group Inc., Secure Innovations, and other partners — managing onboarding, coordinating clearance processes, and supporting top-secret work involving validation, cybersecurity, and data analytics for the Department of Homeland Security. This experience gave me a ground-level understanding of how government contracting actually works: the certifications, the schedules, the vehicles, the security requirements, and the coordination it takes to execute on federal projects at a national security level.
